The Missionary Training Center… First Week!

Primero dia—–The first day was whack, way fun though. I was so stoked when I showed up and ready to learn and we started right off the bat. Soooooooo cool.

I got a lot of work to do for Spanish but I feel like I’m coming along… Compañero is great; his name is Elder Pietsch and he’s a cool dude from San Diego, He has 2 years of college under his belt and is ready to go teach and we get along well. We taught an investigator. I was able to bear witness of God’s love for her and it looked like it really impacted her. We gotta prepare a lesson for a fake investigator by Friday in ALL SPANISH, lol.

Dia dos——–What the … OK, so I’m district leader. Idk what I’m doing lol. We’re teaching the fake investigator tomorrow en todo español Idk Spanish, so it’ll be interesting. lovin’ it and learning a lot

Dia tres—–Wow, we did the Spanish lesson and it didn’t go extremely bad haha. It was sooo hard though. I didn’t have the quickness to understand exactly what she said but I just started speaking and it came out Ok. Essentially we taught a 30 min lesson to a role-playing investigator that only spoke Spanish. We taught her to pray by having her repeat what I said. Estoy muy felicidad. Miss ya guys but I’m stoked to become a chilango (a Mexico City guy). Learned that the Spirit is felt in all languages.

Dia quatro——We had another lesson with the fake investigator and it went well. I still don’t know how to speak Spanish, but it was so cool. Turns out that The FAKE INVESTIGATOR IS A REAL INVESTIGATOR!! Whaaaaaaat? She really is trying to change her life through the church …. so crazy! Now i am muy nervioso and I’m super stoked because we could potentially get her baptized before I leave the MTC. I’m happy, grateful, and I’m learning a lot.

Dia cinco—-Super sick Sunday. We woke up at 6:00 for zone leadership meeting and it was cool to see all the leaders throughout our zone. We prepared to teach another lesson to the REAL investigator about the Restoration and Book of Mormon (which you all should read if you haven’t). Had leadership training which was cool. Talked about how to serve people like Christ and king Bennie would… I’m lovin it!

Dia seis— We taught a great lesson to Suzie (the REAl investigator) and she seemed to understand a lot of it and seemed happy. I think she is beginning to understand the importance of The Church. She prayed and did a better job than I can do in Spanish so she is coming along well. She read the whole First Vision and asked questions throughout which was awesome.

Dia siete—- One week down! Love you guys.

—-What I miss most is scripture study with my family at 5:30ish every morning… which is weird cuz I was asleep most of the time. But i really do miss it the most :).

“No one is ever homesick while in the baptismal font” so I gotta keep working hard and thinking of others in order to be truly happy!
