Hola mis amigos. Español es muy facíl. Yo aprendido muchas palabras y frases. Yo estoy muy emocianado por la oportunidad servir en tres semanas!!!!!!!!!!!! Yo no puedo esperar :::::)!
Throw that into google translate and see if i did good.
IMPORTANT MEXICAN WORDS THAT HAVE BEEN LEARNED THIS WEEK:
Intentará – “you will try” – Anakin Skywalker
Fue mi hemano, te quería! – “You were my brother, I loved you” – Obi Wan Kenobi
Sooooooo…… Pretty cool week! I learned a lot and I am becoming more spiritual and I love being here!
For an hour each day, we get exercise time which our district(Spanish district) always spends on the fútbol field. Once a week, our district’s exercise time coincides with this district full of British people going to China or something. But they are soo good at fútbol… especially this one elder named Elder Cox (everyone calls him Coxy in a British accent). He is always serious and, instead of smiling, he scores goals. So we go to play this team, and we somehow come out on top! 4-1 and I scored one, hahah, so it was dope. I love being here!
We said later skater to Elder Pietsch cuz his visa came thru so he’s down in the Mexico City MTC. Pretty sad to see mi primero compeñero leave me. but it’s all good because he’s with the Latinos now.
Also, we made a sauna/ steam room last night: you take all the bedsheets, tape them up to keep in all the steam, then turn all the showers on full heat and it makes it supppper nice. Also we had glow sticks and turned off all the lights, so it was super dope.

We went to watch a talk by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland called “Missions are Forever”….it was sooo good. There were two main points that I liked from it. The first one is that you can heat water to 210 degrees and nothing will happen. Without those extra 2 degrees, you’ll only have hot water but no steam and no real change. If we try hard at anything but don’t give it our best, we won’t be able to see the potential effects of our labors. I’m not going on a mission to warm up some water, I’m here to make steam. I’m here to boil it until there’s nothing but an empty pot.
The second part was about a French poem that went like:
“We can’t, we’re afraid!” they responded.
“Come to the edge,” he said.
“We can’t, We will fall!” they responded.
“Come to the edge,” he said.
And so they came.
And he pushed them.
And they flew.― Guillaume Apollinaire
I love this poem! God is always beckoning for us to come, but if we don’t heed his calling, we will never reach our potential and fly. Once we finally push ourselves out of our comfort zones, he can help us soar!
Got a super dope experience from the temple too…. I have had a testimony that the Book of Mormon is true for the longest time, but I didn’t have any one moment where it became instantly known to me…. I wanted to ask for a confirmation of the validity of the BoM so I prayed and prayed throughout my time in the temple and, nearing the end, I had a prompting to open the Doctrine & Covenants and I just flipped it open to a random scripture: D&C 5:20 — “….my word shall be verified as it hath hitherto been verified.” It was a gnarly confirmation that even though I had a strong testimony, I felt the spirit soooooooo strong so it was verified again. I’m stoked that God listens to us and answers our prayers..
BOOK OF MORMON IS TRUE!
Later guys,
-Elder Turner
