Yeewww, so I had a pretty cool week.
I got a new comp that’s ready to work hard and only speaks Spanish, so I’m ready to baptize the world, haha! I absolutely love every second of my mission, even at 6:30 every morning! I literally can’t not smile.
I gave a talk about faith and trials for 15 minutes yesterday and it was kinda random, haha. (I was asked to speak 5 minutes before the meeting). I used Hebrews Chapter 11(my favorite chapter in the Bible) as the basis for my talk. The scripture talks about how all we need is a desire to have faith and we can have it. It went well and people understood me I think, so I felt great after!
I wish I would’ve talked to more people about the Gospel before my mission. It took a while to get used to bringing up the gospel to everyone, especially in Spanish, but it’s becoming easier now. There’s nothing in the world like missionary work; the joy I feel every day is amazing. The people are amazing and the changes they make are amazing. There’s nowhere I’d rather be. I can feel the love of God always and can share it too!
I feel so close to the Savior but I feel like I am soooooo far from being like him. I feel his love and I want to feel that kind of love for everyone around me. And I do at times, but other times I feel the weight of the natural man and I find myself complaining about something or someone in my head. I know the more I serve, the easier it will get to love others and be like more like Jesus. This is so much fun!
This week, I learned a lot! I learned that, through our trials and problems, we can be made more like the Savior, and that God doesn’t just throw problems at us, but rather he gives them to us and, if we let him, he will guide us through them to better ourselves. He will never abandon us if we ask for his help. I don’t know how much, if any, faith that you guys have, but I know you all have trials and problems in life. I invite you all to ask for his help through prayer. I know he will give it to you liberally because that is his purpose, “to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.” We can only achieve that through trials prepared specifically for us individually.
I love this work, I love you guys and I love the Book of Mormon.
Never stop never stopping,
Elder Turner
