Well I had a pretty great week!
It’s been pretty weird weather-wise here. For the 6 weeks here, it was cold in morning and at night, but way hot in the middle of the day. This week, everything changed up on me — Wednesday it was way hot, so I was wearing short sleeves, and out of no where, it just starting hailing Ping-Pong balls for like 2 hours. I wish I had my camera cuz it legit looked like snow. It has rained every day since and the roads are like rivers.
Oiiiiii, so Francisco is a 75 year old man we found who is getting baptized!!! I’m pretty sure that I’m gonna baptize him and I’m way scared, haha… I love how much he progressed; when we first met him, he was a devout Jehovah’s Witness and now he has so much faith in our Savior and his atonement and its soooo cool!!!!!
Ivan is the guy who had a question during our lesson last week about the nature of God, prayed in the middle of the discussion and right then got a clear, personal answer. He is getting baptized the 24 and I’m stoked for him. He can’t stop talking about the temple and how much he wants to marry his girl, get baptized and then get married in the temple!
Gustavo is 26 years old and he heard one of our lessons with Ivan and asked if we could teach him too. He didn’t believe God was real at the beginning of the lesson, but by the end of the discussion, he had accepted a baptismal date!!!!! He seemed so much happier the following lesson and is praying every night!
Karina has a boyfriend that has been an inactive member of the church for 11 years. They both want to change a lot. We talked with them and they told us the only way they believe they can change is through repentance and baptism. We were like “Heck ya, exactly!” She is also getting baptized on the 24th
P-day was dope. We went super far away to go to a Wal-Mart and I bought a waffle iron for like 200 pesos, which is $10, and it is amazing.
Our regular daily routine is: we wake up, shower, have personal study, and usually have an appointment at 9:00ish, walk to Narnia (an imaginary land far, far away), have a couple lessons, walk to Narnia again, have more appointments, do the rest of our studies in some park or something, eat lunch at 3:00, work till 8:45 and then sprint like crazy home. We usually eat some dank tacos or something like that for dinner then hit the sack.
I can feel the Lord guide me in so many things during almost every the day. For instance, I felt the need to challenge someone to be baptized in the middle of a discussion, I think we were talking about the Great Apostasy and he said “Yes” (Ivan). I love this work!
I am learning everyday more and more how much love the Savior has for each of us! I love this scripture in Isaiah 49:15-16. He says He will never forget us because he has carved our names in the palms of his hands. The symbolism of Isaiah is so amazing! I love the scriptures so.
I love missionary work so much! I have never been this happy
